“bitchat” is used on this site as the name of the software the guides describe. The name and the app icon belong to their owners. Our mark is a simple mesh drawing made for this guide. It is not the official app icon, and it is not meant to suggest that the project runs this domain.
Files
The APKs offered here are copies of signed release assets published on GitHub by the Android maintainers. We identify the tag, the upstream file name, the size, and the SHA-256. A match is evidence that the bytes are the published bytes. It is not a personal promise from the upstream developers to you, and it is not a security audit of the protocol.
The upstream README says a compiled build from anywhere else cannot be verified the way a build you reproduce yourself can. If that standard is the one you need, build from the signed source tag and follow the project’s reproducible-build notes. Use this mirror when a checked copy of the published signed file is enough.
Guides
Articles describe public behavior at the time of writing. Encryption limits, permission prompts, and store availability can change. Nothing here is legal, security, or financial advice. Cashu tokens, where the app recognizes them, are bearer instruments. This site does not hold, redeem, or custody any token.
